User guide to KorpusDK
Find information on how to use the 3 query options in KorpusDK: Concordance, Collocations and Set phrases.
By means of a corpus it is possible to explore the language as it is actually used. KorpusDK contains 56 million words selected to reflect the linguistic diversity. With the query tool you can make your own investigations of the material.
In KorpusDK there are 3 search possibilities:

Linguistic pitfalls
- Concordance, which finds examples of words or phrases and their use in Danish. Which form is more widespread: en visit or et visit? Insert the word in the search box and click to start the query. The query tool is processing the 56 million words of KorpusDK to find all the words which match the search expression. The result is shown as a concordance, a list of lines in which the search expression is highlighted and shown in a minimal context. You can sort or reduce the concordance if you want a better overview.

in the case of visit it may be useful to sort the concordance to the left in order to get a better overview.
- The Collocations search function finds words that typically appear next to the search word. The result of this search mode is presented as a statistical analysis of typical words in the immediate context. For example, you can see how many times en and et occur to the left of visit.
- The Set phrases search function finds all the expressions in which a particular word is used. The set phrases are taken from The Danish Dictionary. You can for instance find the expression fransk visit.
