Facts about KorpusDK
What?
KorpusDK contains a collection of electronic texts derived from a range af different sources, in total 56 million words. The texts give an impression of modern Danish as it is used by the Danish speaking population.
The texts have been composed in order to give a broad and varied picture of the wealth of appearances which language can take. The texts were collected around the years 1990 and 2000 and have been tagged with information on both the text and the language user.
Contrary to the examples which you can find on the Internet by means of a search engine, the texts have been carefully selected to show a broad section of both texts types and language users.
How?
With the querying tool it is possible to investigate and look at examples of linguistic phenomena as they have been produced in naturally occurring Danish texts.
The texts have been tagged so that you perform various linguistic investigations on the material, and it allows highly accurate queries for specific instances.
For whom?
KorpusDK addresses both people who take a professional interest in language (journalists, teachers and linguists) and those who simply find language an interesting and fascinating subject which is a lot of fun to study.
